During times of global and regional hardships it is easy for us to succumb to our negative thoughts and habits and lose track of the goals we set for ourselves. Whether you already underwent a plastic surgery are you are planning to have one in the future it is recommended that you make use of your time during quarantine. In This article we will provide you with few tips to stay fit or get in shape.

Stay active, stay toned

Physical activity is a quick mood booster. There are several ways to keep your body moving while you are confined to your house. If you are afraid of losing the progress you made at the gym or after your body lift surgery or liposuction procedure, I advise you to keep up with a daily workout routine.

There are currently several challenges including Yoga, Pilates and Jump rope. You can easily find a course or a set of tutorials that fit your level of physical activity. A quick google search will yield you thousands of challenge options, to stay active, toned and on track with your weight loss goal.

Yoga:

Yoga is a physical activity that will help you to mindfully move your body and exercise.  There are several yoga types including, Yin/hatha yoga for stretching and relaxing and Vinyasa and power yoga for a sort mindful workout. Beginners will effortlessly find suitable videos as well. Most yoga routines range from 10 minutes to 30 minutes.

Pilates:

This type of workout is very trendy right now and it will help you keep the lean appearance you gained after your body lift surgery. This is a whole-body workout that will help you strengthen your core and all your body muscles in a balanced way. This type of workout will improve your posture, increase your flexibility and give you a lean appearance.

Jump rope:

For a cardio exercise and to blow off some steam you can easily grab your jump rope and do some reps. This activity is very fun specially if you include some tricks like boxer skip or one leg jumps. Jump roping is highly beneficial to the body since it improves coordination and burns calories. It is also capable of improving bone density and breathing efficiency.

Adding one of these activities to your daily routine will help you stay energetic and focused throughout the day.

Meditation for a calm mind

When we are anxious and stressed our muscles contract and become tense. Meditation is a good way to relax all the tensed-up muscles specially those of the face. Including meditation regularly in our routine can bring a lot of benefits to our lives. This practice will help you control your anxiety and enhance your emotional health and self-awareness.  Meditation is also capable of improving the quality of your sleep. Meditation can be done anywhere and it doesn’t demand a gym membership or any equipment. Just a comfortable quiet place in your house. Guided meditations for beginners are widely available online.

You can choose between two types of meditation namely; focused-attention meditation and open-monitoring meditation. These two types of meditation serve different purposes. In the focused-attention meditation the emphasis is on a single idea, sound or visualisation that the meditator needs to focus on. This type aims for a relaxed non-judgmental concentration. However, when it comes to open-monitoring meditation, the focus is will be on the train of thoughts and feelings that the meditator is experiencing at the moment of meditation. This basically means that you will be following the flow of your feelings, impulses and thoughts. It might bring certain supressed experiences to the surface. This technique helps people purge negativity and attain a more relaxed state of mine. 

Healthy and tasty meals

While being house bound feels very restricting there are always things that need to be done. Among the activities that we usually take for granted is cooking. When busy and out and about we tend to opt for junk food and eating outside which isn’t always healthy. This is an opportunity to shift our diet and try to start the Whole 30 food plan. This plan will help you to physically feel lighter, less bloated and quite energetic. This diet is very suitable for people recently had their abdominoplasty surgery and want to stay fit.

This food plan involves removing all potentially inflammatory drinks, snacks and foods. This diet basically revolves around avoiding added sugar, alcohol, legumes, certain grains, sweeteners and processed foods. The focus is to have three daily clean meals with a fair portion of meat/seafood, eggs along with vegetables. The way in which you cook your meals is also very important, so it is needless to say that deep frying and pan frying is not advised. It would be better to bake, steam or boil your meals. All plastic surgeons agree that potential patients should stop smoking since that can cause complications during plastic surgeries or even bad side effects in the post-operative period.
