Benefits of male Breast Surgery

  • News

Plastic surgery has been gaining ground among men in the recent years especially regarding sculpting the chest area. Not everyone can achieve a shredded look from going to the gym. So, the best option for them to opt for is to consult a plastic surgeon for a male breast surgery; either a Gynecomastia or Pectoral implants. The decision of which surgery to choose will be made during a pre-op consultation with the surgeon. This decision will highly depend on the specific condition of each patient.

Benefits of gynecomastia surgery:

Gynecomastia is a condition that some men suffer from. It is characterized by excess breast tissue which is mostly caused by weight gain, aging and hormonal fluctuation. This condition can also be a side effect of some medications or treatments that the person went through. This condition can cause confidence issues. People may bully or make excessive jokes about the person with this condition. These instances will heighten the patient’s negative self-image.

Luckily, plastic surgery is here for the rescue. With gynecomastia surgery, the patient will be able to get rid of the excessive breast tissue they have. The surgery has different techniques, the surgeon can either opt for liposuction alone to remove the excess fat or for excision to get rid of the excess skin. The surgeon can opt for both techniques in case the patient needs it.

Male breast reduction will help the patient achieve a flatter and more toned chest. The surgery will boost the person’s confidence and allow them to go topless in front of others without feeling anxious. It also has a lot of other benefits including less back pain and a better posture as well as feeling more comfortable while doing physical activities.

Benefits of pectoral implants:

At times going to the gym is not enough to have the muscular chest you desire. Some people are unable to get the definition they want despite their rigorous workout routines and diet regimen. This inability is mainly caused by either growth defects, an injury caused by an accident or simply genetic matters. A pre-op will allow the plastic surgeon to identify the needs of the patient and accommodate to their needs properly.

Although the aim of this procedure can be purely aesthetic for athletes, some people will opt for it to correct an asymmetrical chest caused by an accident or a birth deformity. The pectoral implant surgery involves inserting a solid silicone implant in the chest area. In order to insert this implant, 5 centimetres incisions have to be made in the armpits. The implant will be put under the pectoral muscle to sculpt the torso and give it a proportionate look. After this, the surgeon will suture the incisions and will prescribe some medications and a compression garment to minimise the post-operation swelling.

Such a procedure will improve the chest contour and it will enhance the bulk of the muscle. It will also boost a person’s self-esteem and encourage them to keep up with their workout routines.
