Dermabrasion is a surgical technique that aims to remove the upper layer of the skin.
The skin is scraped by small grinding stones at the level of the epidermis. Dermabrasion is indicated to remove traces of acne, slight redness, fine lines and some superficial tattoos.
Some specialists recommend a preparation as early as 2 or 3 weeks before dermabrasion, in order to optimize the result. They insist on a careful cleaning of the skin, the use of fruit acid creams to prepare it and taking antibiotics to prevent infections that can attack the dermis exposed.
The dermatologist or the aesthetic doctor can sometimes use laser.
Immediately after dermabrasion, redness, swelling and / or oozing may occur. But no particular worry: the epidermis is reformed from the fifth day. Be careful though, it remains fragile and the skin must absolutely stay free from any trauma, friction and scraping.
In the days following the procedure avoid all sunlight, which could cause hyperpigmentation. It also happens that the skin is sensitive to the care it usually tolerates, and this for several weeks. In any case, it is essential to follow the recommendations of your specialist.
Final results of dermabrasion are observed after several months
